Solid place for breakfast in Siesta Village. There can be a bit of a wait at busy times, but the food and service are well worth the wait. The coffee is fresh and flows freely, and be sure to try the City Grits - they're amazing!

We ate here two mornings in a row. Everything we ordered was delicious but our favorite was the Baquezo omelette. YUMYUMYUM. Upgrade to the cheesy hashbrown casserole. So good. Nice, relaxed outdoor seating. We had excellent service both trips.

Just go here its very good! Reasonable pricing as well. Be greedy and order the cinnamon roll as a breakfast appetizer!

Great casual atmosphere. Can eat in your beachwear or casual attire. Great atmosphere - quiet enough while still being lively. A viable option for just a casual lunch/brunch. Food and service was excellent.

My wife, mother-in-law, and I have eaten breakfast at the Broken Egg restaurant in Siesta Key village for several years while vacationing in Florida. Recently, we decided to have breakfast at the Broken Egg that is now under new ownership. There was no comparison to the previously owned restaurant. The food that was served this past January was absolutely horrible. We had burnt bacon and the waiter had an attitude when I asked him to remove it from the bill. Our waffles and pancakes were completely tasteless served with our weak coffee. We will not be going back to the Broken Egg in the future.

  • Ashley A.

The place is decorated so nice and they did have amazing cheese grits... but the rest of the food was the typical cafe. Do not get the Florida omlette due to there use of canned crab meat or at least old crab meat. It was not fresh so I just scrapped it aside and ate the rest of the c r am cheese filled omlette. Great tasting coffee and fresh squeezed oj.

I have been coming to SiestaKey for a week in Oct for the past 8 years. A staple on the trip is breakfast at the broken egg. The service is always fantastic and the breakfast is even better. Omelets with ingredients such as crab, lobster, crawfish, chorizo sausage and lots more. The pasteurized are good as well.

Great outdoor seating and quick service. Food was tasty but nothing over the top. We had six at our table and we all said it was good but we would want to try additional places on the island before going back. The one thing I would go back for is the city grits-creamy and super cheesy!

Best breakfast we have had so far while in siesta key. The cinnamon roll French toast was awesome & my husband got eggs Benedict that was also really good. Loved the coffee mugs.

We came here 3 times for breakfast and brunch while we stayed in siesta key and both the service and food were excellent each time. This will probably be our go to breakfast spot when we come back

Fortunately for visitors this another excellent option for breakfast or a snack in Siesta Key. The staff are pleasant and the service is swift. My wife and I both enjoyed our meals and were in and out of there quite quickly. I like to eat good food but don't like to take too much time away from outdoor activities and this place is perfect for that. Of course, it would do equally as well for someone with more time on their hands.

I was already disappointed that the original Broken Egg restaurant chose to sell their Siesta Key location, but this feeling was compounded after my experience at this restaurant which replaced it. Upon our arrival we were informed it would be a 15-25 minute wait. This quickly transformed into a 45 minute wait. On top of that, I heard the hostess informing others about a first come, first serve breakfast bar inside. We were never made aware of this or we would have tried to get seats there. Upon being seated, I was not impressed with the menu. There was nothing special and a lot of the items contained seafood elements. I personally do not like seafood, so this was a big change to the menu that limited my choices. The people sitting next to us sat with their dog, who was pretty crazy and wouldn't really sit down. Usually servers go nuts for dogs and our server was no exception. I have seen many servers pet dogs and go right back to working without washing their hands. Happily, however, our server refused to pet the dog. All of that being said, the food was good. It's nothing I would come back for, but it was good. We started with the biscuit beignets. They tasted like biscuits, just a little lighter and covered in powdered sugar. They were tasty and it was an interesting idea. I got the cinnamon roll french toast. I ordered the Bananas Foster sauce on the side, but there was a little on the side and a lot on the french toast. This was good, but I didn't really like the sauce. My mother got regular french toast with bacon and eggs. She thought it was nothing special and ended up stealing a lot from my plate. She liked the bacon, but the eggs were cold when they got to the table. Overall, it was okay. The food was good, but the disorganization at the hostess stand was a turn off. I don't regret checking it out, but I probably won't be coming back.

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had!!! The cheesy grits, the biscuit beignets, and the bacon are must haves! So is the cinnamon roll French toast. The service was great and the place is very clean. Prices are also very reasonable. Can't wait to go back next year when we visit siesta key again.

Yummy food and great service less than a mile from the beach. There are healthy, low cal options, as well as hearty big meals. We enjoyed out breakfast here, and were seated in 5 minutes.

Went for breakfast. Had an interesting selection of omelets including different types of seafood and cheeses you might not expect to find together in an omelet. My husband had the crab and Brie omelet which he said was fabulous. I also tried it and agree. I had a chocolate chip pancake with a side of eggs and turkey sausage which was all cooked nicely and tasted very good. We had a large party and everyone enjoyed their meal/experience. They were able to accommodate our large party of 12 at 2 separate tables on the patio which had a nice atmosphere. Service was quick and friendly. I will definitely return here when I'm back in the area and highly recommend to others.

  • Ian R.

Place was really good. Was even able to accommodate 11 people with no wait. One of the members of the party found a hair in her food but they brought her a new one right away. Would have been nice if the fruit in the pancakes was cooked in them and not thrown on top, but that's a preference and not a complaint. We will he back!

Egg white omlete, fruit and iced coffee on the front deck was perfect. Casey enjoyed the Hey Lucy omlete. Thank you for the blackberry jam. :)

This breakfast hot-spot offers a great menu for a reasonable price. Be sure to arrive early; or be prepared to wait a bit. I was impressed with the menu and the unique offerings. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was due to some service issues-- The waitress charged the wrong bill to our credit card; and then took nearly a half hour to fix the issue. The manager didn't offer to compensate us for the inconvenience.

Great breakfast! Awesome thick cut bacon!! Lots of different items on the menu which you don't see everywhere.

    (5)
  • Justin S.

The food was delicious. Ordered "The Floridian" which was a crab-topped omelet and was very impressed. My only complaint is that we were told a 10-15 minute wait time and waited over an hour. I have no problem waiting for good food but not when the estimate is so far off.

Delicious!!! It's my first time here in Sarasota so I was hoping for a good breakfast place and this place came up. It was conveniently 0.2 miles away! Anyway, it's located right next to the beach and the place is super cute and clean. Our service was quick and efficient. I love when waiters know a lot about the menu and recommend dishes. I ate their cinnamon roll French toast- more than satisfied, I could re-eat it. My boyfriend ate the oscars egg Benedict which was also amazing. So overall, if I revisit siesta key I will definitely come back.

I made the mistake thinking I was going to The Broken Egg, this is not the same restaurant. I found out that The Broken Egg moved to Clark Rd. Anyway here's my review for ANOTHER broken egg. The service was friendly although he got our order wrong. The food was okay but a little pricy. It took a while to get our food and the restaurant wasn't busy. The atmosphere is very bland generic not what you would expect on Siesta Key. On a good note I was happy to see dogs are permitted on the patio. So I will go back and give them another try with my furry friend.

Found this amazing establishment on vacation and went back 3 times while in town! Food- AMAZING. Every meal was seriously awesome. Impressive and unique menu. My personal favorite was the waffles, and the Cheesy grits were to die for. Gouda, bacon, tomatoes and chives... so so so good!!!! Service- Incredibly inviting, friendly, attentive and down to earth. Way to go guys!! Made a wonderful experience even better. This is how a good business should be run. Atmosphere- Adorable. Loved! Relaxed and comfortable. Great interior and great tables outdoors as well. I will miss this place! I am still dreaming about the delicious grits.... until we return!

  • Viviana F.

I had the Hey Lucy omelette and it was in fact tasty. The outdoor seating was enjoyable. I also liked their cute personalized coffee mugs with the restaurants name and the fact that we could buy them as souvenirs. I probably would've purchased one of it wasn't for how upsetting the slow service was. Although we were sat right away, it took wayyyy too long for our waitress to come to us to take our drink orders and then for us to even get them. It was a busy morning and we were on vacation so we tried to overlook the slow service but it created a bad last breakfast experience in the Sarasota area.

Great breakfast place. The service was attentive but not hovering. we got the Bennetts with warm orange marmalade for an appetizer for the table, everyone enjoyed. We all ordered something different and each was flavorful. Sweet potato pancake was bigger than the plate and had slightly spiced pecans on top. Another diner ordered the blackberry grits that had large fresh blackberries on top. The lobster omelette looked great and certainly did not make you search for the lobster. It was overflowing. The hueveros rancheros were ordered with scrambled eggs but came out with fried. When it was brought to the server attention it was quickly remedied and he kept apologizing. We all make mistakes but the quick response impressed the table. The dish was very flavorful as well. I highly recommend going early and enjoying. You will not be disappointed. Extreamly family friendly.

Great food, great service decent location and atmosphere. The biggest problem I have when I go here is that everything in the menu looks good. I haven't made a bad choice yet.

Absolutely amazing food! Love the atmosphere and look and feel of the restaurant. My girlfriend and I ate here during our weekend visit and will definitely be returning. We recommend the Cinnamon Roll French Toast...it was absolutely delicious! We also wanted to take home one of their handcrafted mugs which are so adorable but they are a little pricey! Make sure you stop by during your visit to Siesta Key! You won't regret it.

Service was awesome....Matthew was welcoming, personal and attentive even with my many substitutions. Menu selection unique and quite tasty Outside seating area clean and kid friendly. Drinks were great and would recommend the Popeye scrambler and burrito Bathrooms clean. Def would recommend this place. Salad looks great so see you back for lunch.

Even when it's raining, you can sit outside as the patio is completely covered. A nice, relaxed atmosphere. We started with the biscuit beignets, which were cooked perfectly with a homemade marmalade. Unfortunately, our meal order got lost in the mix. We didnt mind as we weren't in a hurry (and slightly full from the appetizer) but the staff was all over it when we questioned the status of our food. Our food was definitely worth the wait! Cream cheese in an omelette may sound weird, but I loved it!

  • Kimmy B.

Wow! Great food and service! I took a picture of the city grits because they were so pretty; they tasted as great as they looked! The eggs didn't get a picture since they were nondescript but they were fantastic! The pancakes are HUGE, and so was the bill. But we were surprisingly okay with that since we all had such a yummy breakfast!

TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE FOOD, AND DISHONEST MANAGEMENT. I dined here with my family this week and found the place to be overpriced and not the relaxing kind place you want to go to while on vacation. We ordered their version of the breakfast burrito, which was terribly greasy and made me sick later that afternoon. My mom ordered the chicken sandwich and it was extremely dry and she only took the other half of it with her to be polite. Overall, not pleased with the food or presentation. After our meal, we started packing up when the manager rudely rushed us out of the restaurant. She took my mom's plate from her and swiped the remains into our carry out box. I imagine this was in an effort to get us out since we were the last customers. It was very rushed but being kind and understanding people, we still left a 20% tip. It's a week day and we were looking forward to an afternoon at the beach. Shortly after leaving the restaurant I remembered that I left my Ray Bans on the table and rushed back to retrieve them. Unfortunately, they quickly wrapped up for the day. We were the last diners so I figured I could just call the next morning since it was just my family and the manager, waitress, and host. The only people who could have my glasses would be the staff. In any case, I called the next morning at 7am and was told that no one turned them in. I showed up at noon to check again and after some running around and strange looks from the staff it became clear to me that someone had pocketed my sunglasses. The manager spoke with me and assured me that she was the last person to clear the table but intuition would lead me to believe that either her or one of the two other staff members took them for themselves. I found the manager to be cold and dismissive and considered it a lesson to a) NEVER RETURN b) WARN OTHER PEOPLE ABOUT THEIR DISHONEST SERVICE AND TERRIBLE FOOD. Best of luck to anyone who dines here.

I'm never disappointed when I come here, great place to wake up make sure to order one of their specialty omlettes, they are all delicious. My server, Carmello or "Carmen" was really helpful

I have to give this place 5 stars. Small, quaint, good service, yummy food...I really can't complain. I look forward to coming every year during our family vacation to Siesta Key. Although, I believe it was previously just "The Broken Egg"; this new version (possibly a buy-out?) is equally as good, if not better. I found the dishes to be not only high in their "yummy factor", but creative as well, especially with regards to my Skinny Omelet...impressively flavorful for a "healthy dish". Sweet Potato pancakes were also good, with spicy pecans (or perhaps they were walnuts?) Either way, very good. Why not 5 stars? My cheddar hash bake came lukewarm (more on the "luke" side than "warm".) They did heat it up right away, but 5 stars get it right every time. Bonus: Friendly service and they sell the adorable coffee mugs! A little steep in price but this quaint gem holds a special place in our vacation hearts so worth the splurge, in my opinion.

It is a very busy place which is a good sign!! We had about a twenty min wait but we had time to stroll and get a cup of coffee ! The service was quick and the food was wonderful!! Would recommend it for breakfast for sure.

Great place!! Had the bacon burger and it was delicious.. My wife had the blueberry quinoa and it was to die for! Service was ok. Nothing special. Great price though.. Great location! If you are in Siesta key it is a place you must visit. Breakfast is also excellent! The added bonus to this place is the possibility of meeting Dick Vitale who eats there on the regular for breakfast

Dog Friendly! We came with our five month old pup to the area, and not only did they allow him to sit on the patio with us, they even brought him a doggy bowl of ice water! the food was excellent and the service was friendly and diligent. Even after we'd paid and were sitting around talking, they still made sure to keep our glasses full. I will stop here every time I am in the area.

Great breakfast! The service was good and fairly quick. A little more expensive than other places but from our experience, you get what you pay for. Will be back!

  • Stacy R.

We love this cafe. My boyfriend ordered the black bean benedict and loved it. He is a bit of a foody and is not easily impressed so there you go... I ordered the southwest scramble. Also delicious. I have had the giant cinnamon roll in the past and it took all my self-control not to order it again. The staff was super friendly also. My only complaint is that it took awhlle for the coffee to be refilled. Lots of healthy and not so healthy offerings on the menu. We highly recommend it!

    (4)
  • Delia D.

Love this place excellent service been here more then once. The food is wonderful and the fried potatoes they serve with most dishes are very good, chuncked, just brown enough with the right amount of salt. Food service was quick as well. Popeye's Favorite is great!

  • Kathryn C.

The food here is amazing! A must do if you are in town. I visited with girlfriends and every one fully enjoyed their meal. My friends picked a meal they thought I would like, turns out I was disappointed with the first two bites. Our server, Mark, saw the disappointment in my face and without me even asking to take it back or order something else, he rush ordered another dish I had mentioned earlier. The second dish was totally satisfying...great customer service!!! We got there early, were served in a timely manner and great overall experience. I would return in the future.

A tasty breakfast in a warm and welcoming setting, whether you prefer eating indoors or outdoors. It was busy here when we went, so it's likely one of the better breakfast/brunch options in Siesta Key. A sweet and savory Cinammon Roll French Toast served alongisde freshly-squeezed orange juice by a very friendly waiter. It's the perfect way to jump-start your day at the beach.

"John" our server both visits was outstanding. Experienced, knowledgeable and professional! The food was awesome--a great value in a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere. Just a little slow in the kitchen--there was no great volume of customers during our visits..but plenty of well prepared, delicious food! Visited 2x in 12 days! A 'Must Do'!

GREAT! That's what we have to say about this place. We had huge breakfast around 12-1230 and this place was fantastic. Service was great as well as the food. We would recommend this place to any one looking for breakfast/brunch in Siesta Key, FL.

Probably the best breakfast in the village. Always busy and fast service. Great eggs with potatoes and French toast which both were great. Recommend for breakfast if you're in siesta key..

Great breakfast spot on SK. I'm not sure of any other places on the key near the village that do breakfast...but this place is consistently good. They have a really unique selection of artfully crafted omlettes and benedicts that always hit the spot. Their corned beef hash is some of the best I've ever had! Definitely recommend checking this joint out-

It's been 7 years since I've eaten at another broken egg last time was in Destin on a girls weekend. Since then I have been wanting the baked brie delight again. We came across this new location while visiting family. It was late almost 2 but I knew this was my only chance. We sat on the patio they actually do not close til 2:30 so we had plenty of time. We ordered the baked brie only and it was everything I remembered. My husband had heard me taking about it for years and finally he realized what I was taking about. We will be back next time in town. Glad this new location is here :-)

This was recently renovated and changed from The Broken Egg to Another Broken Egg, which is a mini-chain. Breakfast was very good. We had Pancakes, Eggs Benedict and an Omelet. Eggs Benedict was very good. Skip the diced potatoes that come with the egg dishes and get the cheesy hash browns as they were terrific if over-priced at $1.99 extra. Definitely the best breakfast choice in SK village.

Service was very pleasant. Wait was a little much. I Would rather give 3.5 stars but it rounds to 4, so that's good enough.

Very generous portions, friendly service, and a good menu selection. We had the Hey Lucy omelet with avocado, cheese, chorizo and green chilies and cinnamon roll french toast with bananas foster sauce. Very tasty. The French toast is sweet so you have to enjoy that to enjoy this selection. It is pet friendly in the patio.

This is a must if you are in the area, we had steak and egg, eggs Benedict, Belgium waffle, and the hello lucy omelette. everyone love there food. We go back.

  • Debbie B.

Nice atmosphere and the place was spotless which is always a plus! We did not love our choice of meals. The chicken salad was overly peppered and my shrimp and grits were overly cheesed! Other meals being served looked good! This place is worth a second try!

  • Janet F.

A breakfast staple of siesta key. A must for an egg-cellent meal with great decor. If you haven't been here for a while you must see the difference. Mark the waiter was on top of his game and very pleasant and accommodating. Great food choices & willing to substitute the menu unlike other breakfast spots in the village.

  • C W.

Having gone to broken egg for years was surprised to see the slight change of name but wasn't deterred. I ordered pancakes with sausage eggs and their famous cheese baked hash browns and she ordered an omelet. Server forgot both my potatoes and hers, not a big deal. Pancake was runny in middle and cheese hash browns were not the same, too much onion and under cooked. Orange juice was generic seemed like tropicana not fresh. The food came fast and we left fast too, overall poor.

Recently expanded so the wait time is shorter...great location, public parking less than a block away and the food and service are great! We eat here every time we are in Siesta Key!

The food was really good, the service was average. Really like the seafood omelets and the French toast. Glad we went but not our favorite breakfast place in the village.

Highly recommended by the locals. Location is fair. It was Monday morning so all of the food trucks were doing deliveries in this location. Noise and smog completely ruined whatever little ambiance there is. Not their fault but still part of the experience. Started with an app called City Grits. Never heard of this before. Grits, bacon, scallions, Gouda cheese and garlic. Sounds wack but is delish and could have been breakfast. We both had The Scramble. Combo of whatever you can think of with potatoes and an English muffin. All good. Way to much food after the grits. Could have easily shared one breakfast meal. Earlier Yelper said it was a bit expensive but being from DC I think the prices are fair for what you get. At the end, all told, just shy of $40 for two which actually is a lot for breakfast but in line with the few other breakfast spots on Siesta Key. Good food, very friendly service. Would have given it a four if not for the trucks!

Had a terrible breakfast sandwich. The coffee was sub par. Everything is expensive. I guess you're paying for the location, but I'd rather go hungry.
